Property damage in Lower Mifflin Township can take many forms. Knowing the warning signs early helps prevent minor issues from becoming major repairs.
Lower Mifflin Township’s older rural housing stock includes many homes with aging plumbing that is prone to pinhole leaks and burst pipes, especially during cold winters. Heavy rain events in Cumberland County can overwhelm drainage systems and push water into basements and crawl spaces. Warning signs include water stains on ceilings, buckling floors, and a musty smell. Our team extracts standing water, dries affected materials, and documents all damage for your insurance claim.
Homes in Lower Mifflin Township often rely on wood-burning stoves and older electrical systems, both of which raise fire risk during heating season. Even a small kitchen fire can push smoke and soot into walls, insulation, and ductwork far beyond the original burn area. Lingering odor and discoloration are common warning signs that damage has spread. We clean and deodorize affected surfaces and restore structural components to pre-loss condition.
The valley terrain and seasonal humidity in Cumberland County create persistently damp conditions in below-grade spaces. Many Lower Mifflin Township homes have unfinished basements or vented crawl spaces that collect moisture year-round. Visible discoloration on joists, a musty odor, and allergy-like symptoms are common warning signs. Our mold remediation process targets the moisture source first, then safely removes all affected materials and applies antimicrobial treatments.
Severe thunderstorms and nor’easters regularly push through the Ridge and Valley region, battering roofs and siding on Lower Mifflin Township properties. Wind-driven rain can force water behind siding, around window frames, and through compromised roof flashing within minutes. Missing shingles, dented gutters, and water streaks on interior walls signal that your home has been compromised. Major Restoration inspects, tarps, and repairs storm-damaged structures quickly to stop further water intrusion.
Our reputation is built on the trust and satisfaction of the families and businesses we’ve served throughout the region. Read what our clients have to say about their experience working with our certified restoration team.

Our basement flooded due to a broken sewer pipe. Major did a wonderful job of clean-up. Anthony and Cam did an awesome job of putting our room back together the way it was before the flooding. I would highly recommend Major and Anthony and Cam!Posted on GoogleBrittany KohlerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
We can’t say enough amazing things about Major Restoration Services! After an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience with ServPro, Major Restorations came in and completely turned our situation around. From the very first phone call to the final walk-through, they were fair, transparent, and professional every step of the way. Duy was incredible—he came out right away to assess the water damage, had a detailed estimate to us the same day, and got the job started the very next morning. From there, the entire project was completed in less than a month! He even reviewed our outrageous invoice from ServPro and pointed out where they were clearly overcharging us. His honesty and industry knowledge were such a breath of fresh air. Tyler started tear-out and water remediation and was fantastic—thorough and clearly knew exactly what needed to be done. Jay and Cameron took care of the remodel and we couldn’t be happier with the quality of their work. They were friendly, respectful, and clearly cared about doing the job right. We truly hope we never need water damage services again, but if we do—or need any remodel work—Major Restoration Services will be our very first call. This is a company that genuinely cares about their clients and takes pride in doing the job right. They’ve earned our trust and our business for life!Posted on GoogleChrissy SpottsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
I wanted to make sure I leave a review of the team at Major Restoration. I purchased my first home in May of 2024. Within days of moving in, I had a plumbing issue that needed immediate correction. I contacted my insurance company who has a national contract with another national restoration service. After the initial company came to my house, they remediated the sewage damage and I was told I would be contacted by the restoration team to complete the restoration. MONTHS went by with little to no response from the other company. After getting the run around for months and not having use of my first level and full bathroom, I had my fill of the nonsense. I reached out to Major Restoration, hoping beyond hope that the team there could help me. My initial call was exactly what I needed at the time - I was met with compassion and quick estimate set up. Duoy and Brian came out to see what was left after the other company refused to complete the work. They were extremely kind, compassionate and thorough, ensuring that the estimate they worked up for the insurance company would completely restore my first level and get me whole again. Within weeks, the team at Major Restoration begun the work of putting things back together for me. They worked with a plumbing sub-con, DeRose Plumbing, who were also very kind, respectful and understanding. Major didn't just restore my first level - they made the space BETTER than it was when I bought it. The work they did was NEXT LEVEL. My family room, bathroom and laundry room are the showpiece of my house now, thanks to Major! I can't recommend this team enough. They were thorough, professional, kind and respectful. Every single team member, from the estimate team to the restoration crew to the office staff, treated me with respect and kindness, and the restoration work was completed impeccably. My only regret is that I listened to my insurance company and allowed them to pull in a national company to address the issue. In the future, my first choice will be Major Restoration.Posted on GoogleJack SchatzTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
We had an air conditioner leak into the wall. Major came out and corrected the problem and installed a new floor as well. Everything about the job was well done. Would definately use them again. Highly recommend.

Get answers to the most common questions Lower Mifflin Township homeowners ask about water damage restoration costs, timelines, and permits.
Costs for water damage restoration in Lower Mifflin Township typically range from $1,200 for minor water intrusion to $8,000 or more for extensive structural drying and repairs. Factors like the source of water, square footage affected, and materials involved all influence the final price. Most homeowners file an insurance claim to cover a significant portion of these costs.
Most water damage restoration projects in Lower Mifflin Township take between 3 and 7 days from initial extraction to completed drying, though larger jobs involving structural repairs can take 2 to 4 weeks. Drying times depend on the extent of saturation and the materials affected. We provide a timeline estimate after the initial moisture assessment.
Permits in Lower Mifflin Township are generally required when restoration work involves structural repairs, electrical work, or plumbing replacements rather than standard drying and cleanup. Cumberland County and the local township office can confirm specific permit requirements for your project scope. Major Restoration will advise you on what permits apply and can assist with the process.
Most standard homeowner’s insurance policies in Lower Mifflin Township cover sudden and accidental water damage such as burst pipes or appliance failures, but typically exclude gradual leaks or flood damage from rising groundwater.
