Common Water Damage Problems We Fix in Shiloh

Shiloh properties face a range of damage risks year-round. Major Restoration is equipped to handle each one quickly and thoroughly.

Water Damage from Plumbing Failures and Storms

Plumbing failures and heavy rainfall are among the most common causes of water intrusion in Shiloh homes. Older homes along Route 30 and surrounding streets often have aging pipe systems prone to bursting during winter freezes. Water can saturate flooring, walls, and insulation within hours if not addressed. Our team extracts standing water, maps moisture levels, and dries the structure completely to prevent secondary damage.

Fire and Smoke-Related Damage

House fires in Shiloh can start from kitchen accidents, electrical faults, or heating equipment failures during cold months. Even a small fire produces smoke that travels through ductwork and coats surfaces in rooms far from the origin. Soot is corrosive and can cause permanent staining if not treated quickly. Our restoration team removes debris, neutralizes odors, and repairs structural damage so your home is safe to occupy again.

Mold Growth in Damp Basements and Crawl Spaces

Shiloh’s humid summers and wet springs create conditions that encourage mold growth in below-grade spaces. Homes with crawl spaces or unfinished basements are especially vulnerable when minor leaks go undetected for weeks. Mold spreads fast and can affect air quality throughout the entire home. Our remediation process identifies the moisture source, contains the affected zone, and removes mold using EPA-approved treatments.

Storm Damage to Roofs, Siding, and Windows

Severe storms rolling through York County regularly bring high winds and hail that damage roofs, siding, and windows in Shiloh neighborhoods. A compromised roof allows rainwater to penetrate the attic and spread into interior walls before a homeowner even notices. Damaged siding and windows also allow moisture to accumulate behind exterior surfaces. Major Restoration assesses storm damage quickly and completes repairs to protect your home from further water intrusion.

Our basement flooded due to a broken sewer pipe. Major did a wonderful job of clean-up. Anthony and Cam did an awesome job of putting our room back together the way it was before the flooding. I would highly recommend Major and Anthony and Cam!

We can’t say enough amazing things about Major Restoration Services! After an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience with ServPro, Major Restorations came in and completely turned our situation around. From the very first phone call to the final walk-through, they were fair, transparent, and professional every step of the way. Duy was incredible—he came out right away to assess the water damage, had a detailed estimate to us the same day, and got the job started the very next morning. From there, the entire project was completed in less than a month! He even reviewed our outrageous invoice from ServPro and pointed out where they were clearly overcharging us. His honesty and industry knowledge were such a breath of fresh air. Tyler started tear-out and water remediation and was fantastic—thorough and clearly knew exactly what needed to be done. Jay and Cameron took care of the remodel and we couldn’t be happier with the quality of their work. They were friendly, respectful, and clearly cared about doing the job right. We truly hope we never need water damage services again, but if we do—or need any remodel work—Major Restoration Services will be our very first call. This is a company that genuinely cares about their clients and takes pride in doing the job right. They’ve earned our trust and our business for life!

I wanted to make sure I leave a review of the team at Major Restoration. I purchased my first home in May of 2024. Within days of moving in, I had a plumbing issue that needed immediate correction. I contacted my insurance company who has a national contract with another national restoration service. After the initial company came to my house, they remediated the sewage damage and I was told I would be contacted by the restoration team to complete the restoration. MONTHS went by with little to no response from the other company. After getting the run around for months and not having use of my first level and full bathroom, I had my fill of the nonsense. I reached out to Major Restoration, hoping beyond hope that the team there could help me. My initial call was exactly what I needed at the time - I was met with compassion and quick estimate set up. Duoy and Brian came out to see what was left after the other company refused to complete the work. They were extremely kind, compassionate and thorough, ensuring that the estimate they worked up for the insurance company would completely restore my first level and get me whole again. Within weeks, the team at Major Restoration begun the work of putting things back together for me. They worked with a plumbing sub-con, DeRose Plumbing, who were also very kind, respectful and understanding. Major didn't just restore my first level - they made the space BETTER than it was when I bought it. The work they did was NEXT LEVEL. My family room, bathroom and laundry room are the showpiece of my house now, thanks to Major! I can't recommend this team enough. They were thorough, professional, kind and respectful. Every single team member, from the estimate team to the restoration crew to the office staff, treated me with respect and kindness, and the restoration work was completed impeccably. My only regret is that I listened to my insurance company and allowed them to pull in a national company to address the issue. In the future, my first choice will be Major Restoration.

The final cost depends on the affected area, materials involved, and how quickly the damage is addressed.
